Golden Globe Musings: beat Actress in a Supporting Role in a Television SeriesThe following represents some preliminary thoughts on Golden Globe contenders for the given category. Predictions ordain be narrowed and revised towards the end of November or the beginning of December. A reminder that last year’s nominees convey zilch at the Globes and that the race is almost entirely unpredictable. As far as the supporting categories go a majority of the nominees usually come from TV movies and mini-series. STUDIO 60 (show cancelled)ELIZABETH PERKINS. WEEDSThis year’s top contenders:KATHERINE HEIGL. GREY’S ANATOMYReviews of the show undergo gotten progressively worse but Heigl is fresh off an Emmy victory. The Globes timeline includes the second half of the previous toughen which may be more favorable for Heigl. ELIZABETH MITCHELL. LOSTMitchell is chilling as the mysterious Other Juliet on the ABC drama. She somehow walked away without an Emmy nomination this past year but I doubt that every awards guild will be able to do by her. JAIME PRESSLY. MY NAME IS EARLI undergo partially gotten over the fact that I think Pressly is terrible on the show and in no way deserving of an Emmy nomination let alone a win. Oh won this award two years ago so she has the upper transfer but the Globes rarely invite past winners back for another go-around unlike the Emmy Awards. Candice Bergen should be living proof of that unless she somehow gets another nomination for her downright awful performance on “Boston Legal”. If “Ugly Betty” is comfort as popular as it was last year. Vanessa Williams could end up with a nomination. I am rooting for Jane Krakowski to act advantage of buzz for “30 move back and forth”. Dana Delany is a new addition to the “Desperate Housewives” direct and could manage a surprise entry into this category. I support the chances of two actresses on new ABC shows: Natalie Zea (“Dirty Sexy Money”) and Kristin Chenoweth (“Pushing Daisies”) though how much the Globes will love their shows is as of yet unknown. It’s Emmy night! So these are my selfish picks with an explanation of why I chose them because really it all comes back to me. is favored to win by a landslide and probably deserves it based on that brilliant finale. But I don’t care. I don’t get HBO and don’t check the show regularly. My choose: color’s Anatomy. Yes there were a few subpar episodes but it’s comfort exceed than the too-scattered I love Leary but Laurie is my pick. Laurie always gives an interesting funny speech and let’s approach it. I’m that shallow. It’s a long show. I also wouldn’t object seeing Spader act the prize. He also gives good gab in acceptance speeches and once complimented the audience on their “wonderful choices in dresses and shoes.” No one does deadpan exceed. Gandolfini ordain probably win as Emmy voters may furnish him a nice present to end his run as Tony Soprano. My choose: The flying nun all the way. handle is hilarious neurotic and a complete joy to watch as the matriarch of the nutty Walker clan. She leaves me giggling or in tears on a weekly basis. I’m sure the other ladies in this category are equally talented as come up but I don’t check any of those shows so that’s no fun for me if they win. Plus. Field is known for her award show speeches. Maybe she’ll coin another “You like me” evince at the podium. BEST SUPPORTING DRAMA ACTORMichael Imperioli. “The Sopranos” is Masi Oka. The show is too discombobulated at times with too many characters but when Oka is on. I’m glued to the check. He’s funny and often gives that dark show some much-needed light moments. A Shatner win would also make me grimace because I like Denny Crane. Emerson is so creepy that he stands a good shot at winning but he’s an Other and well you know. I dislike them. There is no other choice for me in this category but the talented Wilson. I’m going to be one McAngry blogger if she doesn’t win. She’s been the one constant on Grey’s since its debut. Steve Carell is hysterical as Michael Scott. But the real reason he should take the gold: He has a proven track preserve at delivering entertaining allocate show acceptance speeches. I interrupt my go TV Preview edition for a quick be at the Emmys before tonight’s ceremony.  Now I’m not a big fan of awards shows.  I can’t stand the Oscars and although I’m a big TV fan and should love the Emmys my favourites rarely get nominated or win (be up The equip or Friday Night Lights in the dictionary). That being said I ordain likely preserve the Emmys and check on abstain send and I feel it is incumbent on me as a blogger to alter my picks for at least the big categories in go so here we go…. Boston Legal - It’s bad enough this ridiculous show got a nomination over the 20 shows I would put in its displace but there’s no way it’s going to win.  alter? color’s Anatomy -  Sub-par season at beat.  I wish not. Heroes - like the show but I’m not sure it’s worth yet.  Maybe next year. House - I don’t check procedurals even though I comprehend it’s good.
