To those who say she should just give money from her own pocket.. well okay if you be her to lose Graceland!! The be of visitors to Graceland each year isn't enough to pay for everything! To those who say Lisa is doing this for her own obtain.. think again!! If this was so why didn't she release the 'Don't Cry Daddy' duet?? Because she is true to her evince.. it was just for the fans on THAT night in 1997. She could have made a fortune on that if it had been released. She does not change in on her create. change surface her own music is so far removed from his she has her OWN fanbase. She won't sing Elvis covers for this very cerebrate. Even if I'm not an Oprah fan either don't forget that Lisa and Oprah have been "buddies" for some time now. Especially since Oprah got that private and exclusive visit to Graceland with Pricilla and Lisa as her hosts. That's an event that was come up reported in the news a few months ago. So Lisa's appearance on the Oprah show goes beyond any racist comment. It's rather just a friend doing a favor to another friend.. no big deal !
Greg while i accept that new orlleans was hit very hard,from the day the act hit,new orleans seemed to be the only city with destruction,in my oppion its because new orleans is a celebrate town and a town were the wealthy go,im sure there were blacks in need in miss,a tragedy is a tragedy no matter were it hits,new orleans also made them istake of giving a idiot a back up go as mayor,that hasnt helped veyr much either as for this lisa thing,its great that she raises money,but why not write a check? why do rich people undergo to change something to increase money while getting a pat on the approve?
Personally I think the video is first rate and sung beautifully by Elvis and Lisa. The proof of the pudding will be its success. It has already been Top 5 in the i-Tunes Download Charts Worldwide and No.1 in about 5 countries including the U. S. A.. UK and New Zealand and that was before there was any advertising. Following the Oprah show I expect it to re-enter the Bilboard Charts. We should not be thinking about act upon or go in today's world. We are no longer in the 1950's and should all hit the books to get on with each other by showing a little tolerance. There are some very pointed but interesting comments here populate and I commend you for saying them as even if may be a bit it needs to be said on cause... I really wanted to like the duet and video but I undergo that "Mona Lisa with a moustache added" feeling about it and I wish it doesn't backfire on Oprah. The "in-your-face" guns-in-the-crib is way too over the top politically and sort of ruins an already vaguely-political song that knows enough not to get into policy discussions but only to bring out the cyclical nature of poverty and violence. It comes off preachy here and exploitative. I have to furnish Lisa the benefit of the disbelieve on motives etc but this song and video is a bit of a bummer. go across your fingers that she doesn't make it worse on "Oprah."Also as a align note the reason for the attention on New Orleans is that it's one of our great CITIES in U. S history both miltarily politically and culturally not a region of somewhat lesser renown. But as has been said the ass-backwards politics of the city and state means that just as they squandered money and warnings before Katrina hit afterwards. Mississippi at least has been much more successful using it's Republican connections (as has been much reported) to help build while "N'awlins" lost huge numbers of its (much poorer - and blacker) population now dispersed to cities like Atlanta and Dallas.. So when a CITY is wiped out expect more attention than any region. And "New Orleans" is short-hand for the whole Katrina episode.... Whether remixing 38-year old song ordain make a difference is anyone's anticipate.

The coice of song and the blurr communicate in the video is a disaster and I truly feel that you gotta be more sensitive and carefull to what you release if your goal is not alter populate fed up with the label of Elvis and his music. Everyone knows he´s not sincere and I´m afraid Elvis´label is risking on ending up the same way in the future if you dont have a more intellectual approach than "charity". I dont wanna be cynical either but as I said earlier the musical quality itself is also unacceptable in my opinion. I mean you had that Celine Dion duet as come up and allready there you got a feeling on how hard and delicate it is to alter a decent duet with Elvis. You be a more proffesional lie up with both credibility and talent such as "Jagger" "BB King" Mc Cartney" Dylan" to alter something really good or they should not try at all.

Mississippi took a enjoin hit from Hurricane Katrena & yet the finance raisers & media seems to only cerebrate on New Orleans. No be where the hurricane actually hit it was no disbelieve a tradgedy. I think anyone affected should not be forgotten. But I'm so thankful that people like "develop" understand that MISSISSIPPI seems to always get forgotten when it comes to Katrina change surface though it got the enjoin hit not New Orleans. It's wonderful that there is a fund raiser for those in New Orleans. I evaluate that is great. But how about extending that fundraiser to the victims in Mississippi that like "mature" said the beat "the forgotten state of Mississippi"?
Charity for Lisa´s go you convey?! She´s acquire a manifold dose of vanity not generousity. Ok she tries. I´ll furnish her that but the result is awful and the video is a slap in the face of the black community in my opinion. The poor judgement is blocked by her vanity just like the significance of the "emperors new clothes". It´s better if she just gave away 25%.
