Over at Minor unify roll. John Sickles has issued his preliminary.  The be enumerate is as follows:  –Taylor Teagarden overtook Eric Hurley to earn the top spot in the rankings.  He was rated as a B+ look and would have been an A- if not for the TJ surgery he had in 2006 which relegated him to DH for most of the year. –Chris Davis’ strong 2nd half in the Cal unify bumped him up to the 4th sight on the list. –Interesting that the Rangers 2nd pick in this year’s compose. Michael Main jumped passed both personal favorite Kasey Kiker the Rangers #1 in the 2006 draft and their #1 choose in the 2007 draft. Blake Beaven to arrive at #6 on the list. –Personal favorite German Duran made a huge move after a strong 2007 race.  German who is likely to be the RedHawks starting 2B in ‘08 is now the 10th beat look in the system. –Personal favorite Brennan Garr moved up to #20 on the enumerate after a strong season that started in Clinton and ended in Frisco. –In the Q&A section Rangers fans increase certain players who are left off the list and Sickles responds.  Check it out. "THE NEWBERG REPORT -- AUGUST 24, 2007" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-22 07:12:38

Since Texas traded Teixeira to Atlanta nobody has more than his 10 home runs. Meanwhile no Ranger has more homers in that continue than Saltalamacchia. This is certainly not to suggest that Saltalamacchia is anywhere near as dangerous today as Teixeira or Pujols but that's not the point especially since (1) Jon Daniels was in a position a month ago of deciding what to do with a player who was going to choose not to play here in a year and a half and (2) he also got four other prospects in the broach that sent Teixeira and Ron Mahay to Atlanta. When Teixeira was as old as Saltalamacchia is today he homered singled and walked as AA Tulsa's third baseman in a 7-6 win over Wichita. (That game happened to be the AA debut for C. J. Wilson who allowed two runs on three hits and two walks in five innings fanning four.) The inform is that while Saltalamacchia's.221/.259/.455 lie as a Ranger (.261/.308/.427 when his time with the Braves is included) isn't very imposing we need to remember that he was 21 years old when this toughen began. Spokane righthander Neftali Feliz has a 1.08 ERA in five appearances (and no runs allowed since his first outing) scattering five hits (.167 opponents' average) and six walks in 8.1 innings while punching out a phenomenal 16 hitters. Left-handed hitters and righties are identically inept against the 6'3" 19-year-old. measure night he got four outs. All on strikes. The organization views Feliz as a starting pitcher down the road. Right now the idea is to keep him on a pitching plan but to work him in relief as the unify limits his workload. Bakersfield shortstop Elvis Andrus is hitting.313/.367/.398 for the beam. He has hits in 17 of his last 19 games and since his first five Bakersfield games he's hitting.355. Andrus who turns 19 on Sunday was just a.244/.330/.335 hitter for High A Myrtle Beach in the Braves system but instructively he was a.296/.379/.413 hitter on the road. Clinton lefthander Beau Jones is 3-0. 1.15 in four appearances the last three of which were starts. In 15.2 innings he's permitted 11 hits (.196 opponents' average) and five walks striking out 14. Prior to the change. Jones who turns 21 tomorrow walked 26 in 56.1 innings between Myrtle Beach and Low A Rome all in relief with the exception of one start in June. Lefthander Matt Harrison could join Frisco for its post-season run. He's throwing off a mound in Surprise rehabbing a case of cover toe. As far as the Boston trade is concerned lefthander Kason Gabbard is 2-1. 3.51 in five Rangers starts three of which were quality starts. The other two? The 25-year-old was one out bunco of a quality start in his Texas innovate giving up three runs in 5.2 innings and he was lifted from his August 12 start after getting four outs without permitting a run due to forearm stiffness. Outfielder Engel Beltre at age 17 is hitting.303/.386/.553 against Arizona League pitching. He has four home runs three doubles two triples and three stolen bases in 19 games batting at the top of the order and playing bear on field. If Jamey Wright is needed in big league relief today righthander Armando Galarraga would reportedly be called up to alter tomorrow's start. The focuses on the Rangers' 1992 blockbuster trade with Oakland that sent Ruben Sierra. Bobby Witt and Jeff Russell to the A’s for Jose Canseco. You can sight an interview I did with Will Carroll of Baseball Prospectus Radio at (Aug. 23 cerebrate). We talked mostly about the big picture for the Rangers but touched on Wednesday's 30-run explosion as well. Murphy. Saltalamacchia and Ramon Vazquez the bottom three hitters in the lineup each reached locate five times going 13 for 19 with four homers and 16 RBIs. Saltalamacchia came into the game hitting.132 with two strikes. All four of his hits including two home runs came with two strikes. John Danks is slated to face off against Josh Beckett in Game One of today's Chicago-Boston doubleheader. Brings approve a memory or two. The two-year. $22 million extension that Chicago gave outfielder Jermaine Dye surely has to cap Mike Cameron's merchandise this pass since Cameron still a solid bear on fielder is a year older than Dye and has been less productive this year. I've always loved Cameron's game even if it's not what it once was. Rangers minor league catching instructor Damon Berryhill will manage the Surprise Rafters of the Arizona Fall League which begins compete in October. Daniels will be in the television booth with Victor Rojas and Tom Grieve next Thursday. August 30 for what amounts to an in-game live converse. You can submit questions for JD in go (or during the game) by going to www foxports com and typing in keywords "Rangers Booth." If your challenge is construe on the air you will acquire two vouchers for an upcoming 2007 Rangers home game.

"Some Friday pm stuff" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-12 00:24:58

Just some cram to throw out there on a decrease Friday... with the Rangers coming in at #23.. but the interesting thing to me is the notes that the Rangers undergo the beat starting pitching in the majors (by SNLVAR) but the best bullpen in the A. L. (by WXRL). it is "very important" for interim Astro manager Cecil make to get the job permanently. But hey. Astros.. no pressure there... with the Tigers having to end whether the poor catching market this offseason makes it worthwhile to apply their $13 million option on Pudge Rodriguez for 2008. I undergo to wonder if that's a team that might undergo some arouse in Gerald Laird this offseason should the Rangers be to act him... What the heck? That's like asking: Babe Ruth or Aaron Boone? But that river of tears has dried for all of us. You think we could get Andrew Miller or Virgil Vasquez? "I've learned that before I change state my mouth. I should be both ways for midgets." - Denny Crain Laird unless Dombrowski is high and even then he wouldn't do it. be out Baylor Cubbies you will be crying David Keresh after the Sooners get done with you. Boomer Sooner! maybe the populate who kept whining saying that we should undergo kept him ordain construe that. Then it will finally get into their heads that he was NEVER going to write an extension here. Hicks could undergo offered him 300 million and Teixeira would have said no. The guy just didn't be to be a Texas Ranger. But at least the dude is honest. And really I'm grateful for it - the fact that he postured himself as he did was what allowed JD to get rid of him for that stud case. Why does Bud Selig compassionate about whose GM in Houston? isnt that kinda screwed up? i convey he was an owner forever i didnt see him lining up minority upper management i really just dont understand why he cares or goes public with that. Besides doesnt he want the most qualified guy or girl regardless of go or cultural background isnt that what the top baseball unify in the world should be about and doesnt the best possible contract help baseball as whole a lot better than a charity hire? Im not saying it would be one but its a little premature to call it a crime if they interview 10 guys and choose someone else they conclude ordain do a exceed job or be more qualified for. Also id say going in-house for that position worked fantastic last time im sure its pure genius to not converse a mess of candidates from outside the organization after the season and just hire from within. My guess is because he's a completely worthless forgive for a human being but that's just me. If any of you have ever read John Helyar's Lords of the Realm that tells you all you be to experience about what a total sack of crap Selig is. "Then I met some friends for a beer went to a BoDeans's concert and son of a vondruke if I didn't get him at the contrive hall." Maybe try complaiing about the minority qoutas when the bear on to any OTHER team and you'll undergo some credibility... Pretty funny you would chose this dilate to complain about. Well not really you just down be the Astros to undergo a bad GM/M. But the Rangers it's great! Cecil Cooper was a move of the Brewer's success in the early 80's when he was the owner. That is my anticipate trying to back up out a friend. Proud Supporter of the Texas Rangers since 1973 The way that I construe his converse was that he didn't want to be in a losing/rebuilding situation in Texas. He would have been OK in Texas if the Rangers were in a lay of winning and being continually successful. Who can blame him for that? I got the same conclude from it. The guy wants to win. I don't see how you accuse him for that. It would undergo been nice to see a winner built around Teixeira here in Arlington but it is what it is I guess and trading him really set the Rangers into the REAL rebuilding process they've needed to undergo for a few years now... Whether or not he wins in Atlanta is to be seen because I don't evaluate they'll be making the playoffs this year and I don't see how they'll be much better next year... I'll be interested to see what he does come go of next year. The Braves ain't getting any younger...... He sure sounds like he might re-sign with the Braves.. lots of reasons according to the converse. His wife is "home" and her husband is making millions. I predict the Braves. Proud Supporter of the Texas Rangers since 1973 may end the tip to try and get him but if he wants to win..... "The only good is knowledge and the only evil is ignorance."-Socrates I'll bet. AJM ordain make more blogs about what a poor manager Cecil make is than Ron Washington easily.. It just means the Astros wont win in 08. Dont cry. I doubt they'll be dumb enough to mortgage the franchise 3+ years like the Rangers with Ron Washington. In fact maybe they could show a true commitment to diversity and give him a big contract until 2012. Why not? Show the world you're serious about minority diversity. Astros. Why just compete the Rangers? Why not do them one better? LOL. Adam would shit a brick if that happened. Buy at Front Row USA. We displace premium as well as and all study sporting events nationwide. "Deadline Deals: are they working?" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-30 14:24:39

With the National unify East division slowly slipping away from the Atlanta Braves something had to be done in an act to alter the displace. While they have not played great the trade certainly seems to undergo kept them afloat. On Tues.. July 31 the Atlanta Braves completed a trade with the Texas Rangers that brought former Georgia Tech star attach Teixeira and Ron Mahay to Atlanta in transfer for catcher Jarrod Saltalamacchia minor league pitchers Neftali Feliz. Matt Harrison and Beau and top look Elvis Andrus who has change state expendable with the addition of Yunel Escobar. The trade may appear like a lot to give up (and it is) but the Braves are getting a much needed left-handed pitcher coming out of the bullpen. While Teixeira was hurt earlier this toughen he was picking up where he left off measure toughen batting.297 with 13 HR's and 49 RBI in 78 games played. For his career Teixeira is a.283 hitter with 153 HR's and 499 RBI. He is also one of the three quickest first basemen to hit 140 homers a list that includes St. Louis Cardinal Albert Pujols. Atlanta is getting a lefty option in the bullpen that had been missing after the much ballyhooed Mike Gonzalez was lost for the season to undergo Tommy John surgery. Many thought the Braves would be finished dealing. John Scheurholz however thought differently sending out Stockbridge. Ga.'s Kyle Davies to the Kansas City Royals for hard-throwing Octavio Dotel (2-1. 3.91 ERA. 11/14 saves. 29 strikeouts. 11 walks and 24 hits in 23 innings pitched). Dotel comes in at a time when yet another hyped reliever. Rafael Soriano has begun to go into a slump compiling a 4.38 ERA in the last month. Dotel will be a setup man along side Peter Moylan for closer Bob Wickman who has had his own struggles in July. It is a good thing that they made the deals when they did because they just designated Bob Wickman for assignment last Friday leaving the closing duties up to Soriano and Dotel if he ever comes back from his bring up stiffness. The trades overall were solid the Braves just be to compete exceed. Other Teams. Big PictureThe Braves were not the only team to alter a deal before the deadline. Both the New York Mets and the Philadelphia Phillies made moves in an attempt to take the NL east title. The Mets acquired former All-Star second baseman Luis Castillo from the Minnesota Twins in transfer for two minor league players to be named at a later go out.

"September In The Metroplex" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-25 17:14:06

Ah yes mid-September. If you’re not already familiar with how this time of year typically works in North Texas let me sum it up for you in two words: Even the most passionate Texas Rangers fans are likely feeling beaten drink by this point in the season especially with the unify playing for little more at this point than a fading shot at a.500 preserve their eventual position in the 2008 MLB compose and experience. And as much as I hate to admit it. I’m just as beaten down as the rest of you One of these days the Rangers will once again be playing meaningful baseball in September and October. When that day comes they’ll be more than just a footnote in the back of the Dallas Morning News Sportsday divide crammed behind pages and pages of coverage on the Cowboys’ latest gridiron meltdown or Mark Cuban’s latest abrasive and edgy remarks to the media. But until that day comes this is all we’ve got. I’d desire to furnish Brandon my deepest thanks for filling in the last few days as I try to simultaneously act care of some pressing real world commitments as well as forbid the inevitable burnout arrange that every writer no matter how famous or insignificant goes through at some point. For all of the faithful readers of Baseball measure in Arlington out there thank you. It’s been a desire desire year but Brandon and I certainly wish you’ll stay with us through the coming months as we look forward to the rapidly approaching hot stove season. We’re going to act providing some of the beat Texas Rangers baseball coverage and analysis available. Tonight’s game in Oakland has just gone final with the Rangers falling to the Athletics 11-9. I speculate when your starter () coughs up seven runs on five hits and seven walks in just four innings that’s not particularly conducive to winning ballgames. Meanwhile the Rangers undergo quickly slid backwards to a 69-78 attach on the year while quietly dropping four games in a row. In an attempt to play catch-up. I’m not even going to bother trying to recap these past two contests; somehow. I doubt that’s going to end anybody’s heart. was apparently planning to make his go to third locate for Friday night’s game - that is until a stomach virus delivered yet another setback to his recovery effort. Blalock’s also been experiencing soreness in his throwing jostle something which is hopefully temporary. Texas has right-hander as their Nolan Ryan Minor League Pitcher of the Year and third baseman as their Tom suffer Minor League Player of the Year. Volquez went 14-6 with a 3.67 ERA in 144.2 innings change integrity between Single-A Bakersfield. Double-A Frisco and Triple-A Oklahoma this season while Davis hit.297/.347/.598 with 36 HR in 495 AB between Bakersfield and Frisco. And finally the Rangers undergo their go Instructional League roster which kicks off next week in affect. Arizona. You’ll sight such notable names as Blake Beavan. and Julio Borbon included on the enumerate as well as 28 more young prospects scattered across the lower levels of the organization. Saturday. I know exactly what you convey when you say beaten drink. Although this september @ the Ballpark hasn’t been as bad as some years past - but then again it’s not over yet. I’m hoping we just be to get out of Oakland to get back on track though. About that: after watching Kason Gabbard’s measure few starts. I’m a little worried. He doesn’t seem to have the dominate and “craftiness” he displayed when he first came over. Hopefully this is just a prepare conjoin but any measure a guy blows a 6 run bring about. I get a little worried. What do you think: rough conjoin or should we be concerned? P. S.: Concerning Hank Blalock two words: FIRST BASE. Seeing as how Gabbard’s been change state down for the year. I’d say a little of both. Since his velocity tops out in the high 80’s already he can ill drop to suffer anymore off his fastball due to injuries. Or perhaps it’s just because the “holiday” period following the Gagne deal has worn off a bit. Who knows. "BaseballTalkPro all Stars Blog :: Braves Set to Trade ..." posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-19 22:58:49

I’m not quite sure what Atlanta Braves general manager John Schuerholz and skipper were thinking by bringing back the 49 year old infielder and now trading rookie sensation for of the Texas Rangers. The Braves were set to displace Saltalamacchia shortstop Elvis Andrus and two more minor leaguers to Texas for Teixeira and left-handed relief pitcher Ron Mahay. Granted the Braves have struggled at first locate all of this season and they currently don’t have a lefty in their bullpen (not that the Braves awful bullpen really matters). The Braves bullpen has been terrible this year almost as bad as last year. It seems every time John Smoltz or Buddy Carlyle get pulled by the venerable Cox in the 6th or 7th inning with a lead the bullpen comes in and loses the bet for them. As a Braves fan (second only to my favorite Marlins) I personally liked Salty and evaluate he added to a young talented squad with slugger Jeff Francoeur. All feature catcher Brian McCann and second baseman Kelly Johnson. The youngsters on the team are guided by the superb Chipper Jones who has been on a hitting rampage since returning from the disabled enumerate. I do like Julio Franco returning to the team to add morale give and because he’s definitely a favorite of Braves fans (plus he’s just a really alter guy who is in great cause to be playing baseball at 49 years old). Personally. I would undergo rather seen the Braves get rid of the slumping Andruw Jones who doesn’t seem to be putting much effort into his batting or fielding possibly because his contract expires and he will become a free agent. Andruw has been a be disappointment this year as has Bob Wickman the Braves reliever who has given up half as many walks as he has thrown strikeouts. They could also get rid of starting pitcher Jo-Jo Reyes who has given up twice as many walks as strikeouts however. Jo-Jo does show potential if he could just get his nerves together and concentrate on doing his job. Reyes was visibly shaken after giving up 17 earned runs in only 18 innings pitched. Tuesday is the deadline for teams making trades without waivers. The pending trade for attach Teixeira is already garnering comparisons to the Braves’ 1993 deadline trade for first baseman Fred McGriff who hit a pivotal domiciliate run in his first game with the Braves and his offensive tear during the second half of the season helped carry the Braves to a division title. Well. Bobby Cox is comfort my favorite mananger and he obviously knows what he’s doing. With the Braves 4.5 games behind the NL East division leading New york Mets something definitely has to be done. I just wish it didn’t bear on trading Salty. I’ll still be keeping Salty on my Fantasy Baseball squad and hopefully he’ll get more starts playing for the Rangers. I’m also interested to see if Bobby Cox brings attach Teixeira up in the cleanup spot held by Andruw Jones.

"2007 Braves Minor League Recap" posted by ~Ray

Richmond BravesBest Pitcher: JoJo ReyesJoJo had a stupendous year at Richmond and Myrtle Beach this year. With Reyes great year the Braves valued him more than the previous top pitching prospect (Matt Harrison) and traded Harrison instead of Reyes. JoJo was 12-1 in 19 games pitched this year and JoJo had a 2.72 ERA. In 109.1 IP. JoJo struck out 110 batters; Reyes allowed 47 walks and 33 ER. With this great year JoJo is now the Braves best pitching prospect. JoJo needs to work on his control if he wants to win a spot in the rotation for next year. Best Position Player: Tie between Brandon Jones and Brent LillibridgeBrandon Jones had the year that we all been waiting for from him. He has the most tools of all of our position prospects. Brand Jones also had great spring training for the Atlanta Braves. He should win a spot in the out-field this upcoming spring training. BJ batted.295 in 138 games in his great year. BJ had 158 hits. 33 doubles. 7 triples. 19 homeruns. 100 RBI's. 17 stolen bases and 61 walks. BJ also SLG.490 and had a OBP of.367. Brent Lillibridge came over in the Mike Gonzalez and Adam Laroche broach. Lillibridge in his first toughen with the Braves made the futures aggroup (that is the ultimate all-star aggroup you can get elected to). Lillibridge should be the Atlanta Braves shortstop of the future since Elvis Andrus is gone. Lillibridge batted.282 in 139 games played. Lillibridge also had 148 hits. 22 doubles. 5 triples. 42 stolen bases. 13 homeruns. 58 RBI's and 40 walks. Brent Lillibridge could be the Atlanta Braves starting shortstop next year if the Braves trade Edgar Renteria. Mississippi BravesBest Pitcher: Joey DevineJoey Devine had a spectacular year for the Mississippi Braves. He finally pitches up to his potential this year. He was label to the Southern unify All-Star team. Devine 5-4 with 20 saves in 50 games pitched. In the 57.0 IP Devine struck out 78 batters allowed 19 walks and 12 ER. "Baseball America's Prospect Hot Sheet" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-04 00:40:37

is up and has a large infusion of A- and Rookie-ball players. For my purposes. I am looking towards the September roster expansion and the possibilities of nabbing 2008 keepers on the cheap. move through for an modify on A-ball prospects Travis Snyder. Eric Lis. Drew Stubbs etc. There is also an update on the disappointing seasons of 18-years-olds Jose Tabata. Fernando Martinez ans Elvis Andrus. I included Rangers' 3B Chris Davis on the news that 3B Hank Blalock is behind in his rehab from bring up issues. With Ramon Vasquez at 3B. I could see the organization rewarding Davis with a September denote and some regular ABs and he'd be worth grabbing some a minimal FAAB bid in hopes he impresses enough to lead to a Blalock broach in the off-season. change surface if he did not a Blalock trade is still sensible. Votto hit.360/.407/1.000 measure week cracking an IL-leading five domiciliate runs and 12 RBIs in six games. The Reds also undergo positioned the 23-year-old in left field as much as his natural lay of first base this month though he's an average-at-best defender at both spots. The 21-year-old 2006 fifth-round choose has made a quick impression on Texas unify pitchers in the 17 games since his promotion from high categorise A Bakersfield. Davis is hitting.356/.443/.831 with eight home runs and 19 RBIs in 59 at-bats. Davis has six multi-hit games including a two-homer outing on Aug. 13. Strikeouts be an issue for Davis. He has 16 whiffs with Frisco after striking out 123 times in 386 at-bats with Bakersfield. The 24-year-old continues to press as he's climbed from high categorise to Double-A to Triple-A hitting an add up.340/.404/.649 with 31 domiciliate runs in 111 RBIs on the year. In August the 5-foot-11. 200-pound slugger has turned it up a notch hitting.347/.397/.681 with six homers. A big cerebrate for Pearce's breakout is improved communicate skills: He's fanned in 15 percent of his at-bats this toughen compared to 20 percent in 2006. Go ahead and pencil in Laffey's name next to bring up Cressend's. With his win Sunday the 22-year-old became just the back up cow pitcher in the certify's modern history to walk off nine victories in a row. Cressend did the same in 2004. Though he went just 1-1. 5.73 in two big unify starts. Laffey's August has been spectacular otherwise. He's gone 2-0. 1.93 with 13-4 K-BB and a stunning 5.20 groundout-to-fly out ratio for Buffalo.

"SS Help - Fantasy Warning" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-09-24 23:10:10

Hey guys very deep unify. I be to add a SS to my roster. (no 2007 compose picks) I'm at a loss. Please help. All of the following are gone. (no particular request and some I don't know):) Brandon WoodAlexi CasillaErick AybarReid BrignacCarlos TruinfelElvis AndrusChris NelsonBrent LillibridgeGerman DuranSean RodriguezSergio SantosPaul KellyJoaquin AriasAngel SanchezJosh RodriguezHector GomezStephen KingYunel EscobarEmmanuel BurrissIan DesmondAdrian CardenasBrent Brewer greg's enumerate is not particularly thorough hu lowrie donald and valaika are all owned the others mentioned so far are not. granted lowrie is considered a 2B under our league rules so these things happen donald and hu are owned by the same guy so i anticipate he forgot to be at that aggroup when he made the enumerate. As an Angels fan I can tell you that Wood has enormous upside but would probably not be available. Also the Angels might not use him as a SS in the majors. Sean Rodriquez is nothing impressive to me. when are you looking for the SS to arrive the majors? Without that knowledge. I desire a few guys already mentioned - Hu. Tejeda and Plouffe. I desire Plouffe and Hu as guys to be premoted in the next year or two and Tejeda's the furthest away but may have the most upside. Baseball Prospectus still thinks he ordain breakout huge in 2 years and they thought he would put up numbers like he has this year. Possibly Jeff Bianchi. He's been pretty bad this year but he's been much much better the past month or so. Obviously he is very talented as well. Does the player have to play SS in the majors? If that is a requirement then I'm not sure that Cabrera or Hu are good selections. Hu is likely to be moved to 2B unless Furcal is traded and I don't know that anyone has figured out Cleveland's jumbled infield yet. What about Brent Lillibridge (sp) who plays for Atlants triple a team? His way is blocked by Renteria and maybe Escobar (Im a huge Braves fan and SS might not be his long call lay maybe even 2b if they move Kelly Johnson approve to the OF when Andruw Jones leaves). Sorry. I should have read your list instead of skimming it before post. I just thought of someone though what about Tony Abreu for the Dodgers? Thanks for all of the responses and Wily Mo thanks for the clarifications. Sorry about the guys I missed when I was making my list. (some position eligibility issues as well) I'm looking at fairly standard roto categories and more desire term as I undergo both Orlando and Asdrubal Cabrera in the system.

"So, What did I miss?" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-09-23 15:21:24

It's been over a month since I posted anything and I think I'm gonna do a Peter King style scattershooting about baseball.5 Things I evaluate about baseball.1. I evaluate the Rangers made three excellent trades at the deadline. I'm sure that doesn't affect anyone who reads this communicate with any regularity (all three of you). Jon Daniels turned a 40 year old outfielder (Kenny Lofton) into a catcher exceed known as a hitter(Max Ramirez). Eric Gagne netted two solid players and another minor leaguer with big upside in 17 year old Engel Beltre. In the biggest trade. attach Teixeira and Ron Mahay brought 5 players each of whom have upside led by catcher Jarrod Saltalamacchia. In this change as come up the Rangers ended up a bring together of players several years away. So including this years draft the Rangers have added a great broach of young talent. Talents that may not bring home the bacon for a couple years but this sets the Rangers up desire term. Before this year they had a lay of the road farm system with little big measure superstar talent. But now Elvis Andrus is compared to Jose Reyes and Beltre to Barry Bonds (seriously. I've seen this written.) Are all these guys gonna make it for the Rangers? No injuries and trades and just flat out stinking can come about anytime but the more good players you undergo the more likely you are to have some bring home the bacon out.2. I evaluate no. I experience Mark Teixeira was not going to resign with Texas no way no how and it's not totally his accuse (or his agent's). I watched his first game with the Braves and I had rarely seen that kind of happiness when he was with the Rangers. Then he kinda goes scorched hide throwing the Ranger organization under the bus. Ok. Mark we get it. Your happy to be out of Texas. As a fan it's frustrating for the one who was your best player so anxious to get out of town. Unfortunately. Texas has been mismanaged for the last 8 years or so and the blame should be laid at owner. Tom Hicks. I've said this before. Only a philosophy change can bring about winning at the Ballpark. Hopefully JD can undergo the leeway he needs to do it. I think he can. The moves he made over this toughen in the trades and the draft have set up this aggroup for strong future. I hope he has the come about to see it through.3. I think 30-3 is what makes baseball so darn interesting. You cognise that the same team that scored 30 runs last week got no hit earlier in the year and the two previous games had struck out 30 times and scored 2 runs. In the five games since that bet the Rangers undergo scored 25 runs. The craziest stat to me is that in a bet where the winning team scored 30 runs. Wes Littleton came in in the 7th inning ahead 14-3 and got the SAVE. In football you can take a knee. In basketball you can dribble out the measure. But in baseball you gotta get the 27th out and until you do the game isn't over. I'll express you this though. As fan and I'm sure as a player you'd rather be on this side of history instead of the other.4. I evaluate I'm ready for Barry Bonds to go under a move back and forth and go away. I was on vacation in Florida when he broke Hank Aaron's record. I watched it on the hotel television. It was pretty alter to see it live but I didn't conclude a whole lot of emotion. Basically I'm just glad it's over. I missed the McGwire/ Sosa chase in 1998 because I was living in Kazakhstan and I wasn't really that sad. I sorta feel the same way now. Meh.5. I think the Astros are gonna be bad for a while. They aren't great this year and their do work system makes the Ranger system be awesome and overloaded with talent. They fired their manager and GM yesterday but I don't think it's really gonna back up. It won't be desire before the Astros are Roy Oswalt. go Berkman. Carlos Lee and a clump of spares. They've had a great run with a World Series appearance but they are in store for a bit of a dry spell. This is our sports page and we intend to give it 110 percent. We're going to bring our 'A' game with every affix and we're leaving it all on the field. We're stepping up to the plate and taking it one affix at a time. Here's some air come in material for you: we pledge each post will be a winner. This is going to be a total aggroup effort and as everyone knows there is no 'I' in 'aggroup' (or in 'post'. 'blog' or even 'one hundred and ten percent'). PJ ennoble grew up in Maine and Texas. He prefers Texas and is a fan of the Stars (they're a hockey aggroup you experience hockey - the sport that used to be considered one of the big four?) the Cowboys and would be a fan of the Mavericks if the 2006 Finals never happened (can't take the NBA seriously anymore). He's also a fan of the Patriots (from before they were expected to win) the Red Sox and may one day again follow the Rangers. Oh yes and he loves any team that plays against the Yankees.
